This editorial was written by early career scientists in soil science and gives an overview of the articles published special issue “Soil Science Challenges—An Interdisciplinary Overview Current Future Topics” on occasion 100th anniversary Journal Plant Nutrition Soil Science. A broad range addressing carbon dynamics from microscale to landscape scale, multi-dimensional modeling, improved land management practices, nutrient cycles, hydrology, plastic soils, interdisciplinarity is covered this issue.
